Over the past 12 months ABC Open has captured almost 2,000 dreams and wishes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and non-Aboriginal community leaders Australia-wide to establish a DreamBox online gallery. It’s now going from online to on the walls.
A collection of participants’ hopes and aspirations for Australia’s Indigenous will be officially unveiled at the Portland Arts Centre on September 19.
Locals who’ve participated in the project – the dreamchild of local ABC Open producer Colleen Hughson and SWH Warrnambool Community Health, with assistance from photographers Daniel Bickers and Anthea Rafferty, will be in attendance. And you can be, too. (See this website’s EVENTS for RSVP details.)
The exhibition will continue until October 12.
After that you’ll be able to see, at any time, some of the dreams and wishes of local people. They’re to go on permanent display in our new $26M South West Healthcare Warrnambool Community Health building.
